Technical Team for World Cup appointed


World Kabaddi Technical Commission chairman Dr Ishwar Angadi will serve as the Technical Delegate for the Kabaddi World Cup to be held in the West Midlands from 17-23 March 2025.

World Kabaddi secretary general S.T. Arasu will serve as the Tournament Director.

Twelve international Technical Officials have been appointed based in the recommendations made by the respective national kabaddi associations.

The appointed international Technical Officials are Sompal Singh and Charanjeet Singh (India), Ngome Ewane Herve (Cameroon), Amira Antar Yassin Ahmed Aly (Egypt), Ho Yan Yee (Hong Kong China), Wang Tzu Jen (Chinese Taipei), Perpetual Muthoni Mbutu (Kenya), Tayyab Gillani (Pakistan), Thuraisingam Mathan (Sri Lanka), Roberto Gabriel Sacchi (Argentina), Mogan Kumar Raju and Sivanesan Rengasami Naidu (Malaysia). Two more international Technical Officials will be appointed.

They will be supported by several Technical Officials to be appointed by the hosts – England Kabaddi Association.

This will be the second World Cup for Sompal, Charanjeet, Mogan and Sivanesan, who were also on duty at the inaugural World Cup in Melaka in 2019.

Both Gabriel and Tzu Jen are neutral officials, whose home nations are not participating in the World Cup this time.

A total of 48 matches will take place during the World Cup, that will see competitions for both men and women.

The World Cup will open with the men’s group round robin match between England and Cameroon in Wolverhampton. This will be followed by the women’s match between England and Tanzania.
