The 2025 NFL Draft is getting ready to kickoff with the first round starting at 8 p.m. Eastern on Thursday night. The three-day selection process will include the second- and third-round picks on Friday, followed by rounds four through seven on Saturday. Across the entire event, 257 college prospects will become NFL rookies.
For the Miami Dolphins, this weekend will be a crucial one in their efforts to bounce back from a disappointing 2024 season. The team has several holes on the roster that need to be addressed during the draft – but will they land players who can have immediate impacts on the team?
The Dolphins hold the 13th pick tonight. Will they trade it? Will they fill a roster hole? Will they have an unexpected player fall to them, one they cannot pass even if it is not a “need” position?
We will keep up with everything happening on Thursday right here.

Rumors and Updates
All times Eastern
[11:45 p.m.] – That closes out the first round. The second round begins tomorrow night at 7 p.m. The Browns hold the 33rd overall pick to start day two.
[11:43 p.m.] – Chiefs pick Josh Simmons, tackle, Ohio State.
[11:42 p.m.] – The Chiefs’ pick is in, which will bring the first round to a close.
[11:34 p.m.] – Eagles pick Jihaad Campbell, linebacker, Alabama.
[11:33 p.m.] – The Eagles’ pick is in. The Chiefs are back on the clock.
[11:30 p.m.] – The Eagles and Chiefs swapped the final two picks of the first round. The Eagles moved up to the 31st position, while the Chiefs moved back a pick and gained a fifth-round pick (164).
[11:29 p.m.] – Bills pick Maxwell Hairston, cornerback, Kentucky.
[11:25 p.m.] – The Bills’ pick is in. The Chiefs are on the clock.
[11:24] – Commanders pick Josh Conerly, tackle, Oregon.
[11:22 p.m.] – The NFL Network broadcast is obsessed with showing us Shedeur Sanders continuing to stand around and wait for his name to be called. They are already talking about watching him again tomorrow night. It feels like we are moving from a story to enjoying a young man in one of his lowest points just for the fun of it.
[11:21 p.m.] – The Commanders’ pick is in. The Bills are on the clock.
[11:16 p.m.] – Lions pick Tyleik Williams, defensive tackle, Ohio State
[11:13 p.m.] – The Lions’ pick is in. The Commanders are on the clock.
[11:10 p.m.] – Ravens pick Malaki Starks, safety, Georgia
[11:07 p.m.] – The Ravens’ pick is in. The Lions are on the clock.
[11:04 p.m.] – Falcons pick James Pearce, Jr., edge, Tennessee. The Falcons clearly were looking for defense tonight, and they backed that up with Walker and then the addition of Pearce. Multiple people on the NFL Network broadcast said the Falcons nearly made Pearce the pick at 15, so they have to be ecstatic to be able to make the move to add him here.
[11:02 p.m.] – TRADE – The Falcons sent a second-round pick (46th), a seventh-round pick (242nd), and a 2026 first-round pick to the Rams for the 26th pick and a third-round pick (101st).
[10:59 p.m.] – Giants pick Jaxson Dart, quarterback, Ole Miss. The Giants made their move for a quarterback, but they skipped Shedeur Sanders to grab Dart. The Falcons have now traded up as well, but they cannot be looking for another quarterback…right?
[10:56 p.m.] – The Giants moved up to the 25th position, giving the Texans a second-round pick (34th), a third-round pick (99th), and a 2026 third-round pick.
[10:52 p.m.] – TRADE. The second deal of the night has the New York Giants jumping back into the first round, taking the Houston Texans’ 25th spot. Is this a move for a quarterback, adding the fifth-year option to a contract?
[10:51 p.m.] – Vikings pick Donovan Jackson, guard, Ohio State
[10:44 p.m.] – Packers pick Matthew Golden, wide receiver, Texas. This was the first time the Packers selected a wide receiver in the first round since 2002. What a time to break that streak when you are hosting the Draft and get the reaction of Golden walking out on the stage.
[10:35 p.m.] – Chargers pick Omarion Hampton, running back, North Carolina.
[10:33 p.m.] – The Chargers’ pick is in. The Packers are on the clock. Los Angeles took the clock all the way to zero.
[10:23 p.m.] – Steelers pick Derrick Harmon, defensive tackle, Oregon. Shedeur Sanders continues to fall and he might not be selected in the first round. Could the Steelers feel sure they are going to sign Aaron Rodgers?
[10:22 p.m.] – Steelers pick is in. Chargers are on the clock.
[10:19 p.m.] – Broncos select Jahdae Barron, cornerback, Texas. Other than wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter with the second overall pick, this is the first cornerback to come off the board tonight. A lot of reaction on X about the Dolphins not selecting a cornerback, but it appears the position is falling this year.
[10:16 p.m.] – Buccaneers pick Emeka Egbuka, wide receiver, Ohio State. Fell behind again getting another post ready. The Broncos’ pick is in while the Steelers are on the clock. All eyes are on the Steelers and Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders at this point. Will he continue to fall?
[10:05 p.m.] – Seahawks pick Grey Zabel, tackle, North Dakota State.
[10:00 p.m.] – Bengals pick Shemar Stewart, edge, Texas A&M
[9:58 p.m.] – The Bengals’ pick is in. The Seahawks are on the clock. Ian Rapoport thinks the Seahawks are looking to trade this pick, potentially trying to get a team to jump over the Steelers a few picks from now, who could be targeting a quarterback.
[9:56 p.m.] – Cardinals select Walter Nolen, defensive tackle, Ole Miss. Fell behind in updating these at the moment the pick was announced to write about the Dolphins’ selection of Grant. But, this is all caught up now.
[9:47 p.m.] – Falcons select Jalon Walker, linebacker, Georgia.
[9:38 p.m.] – Colts pick Tyler Warren, tight end, Penn State.
[9:35 p.m.] – Dolphins pick Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan.
[9:33 p.m.] – The Colts’ pick is in. The Falcons are on the clock.
[9:31 p.m.] – The Dolphins’ pick is in. The Colts are on the clock.
[9:26 p.m.] – Cowboys pick Tyler Booker, guard, Alabama
[9:25 p.m.] – The Cowboys’ pick is in. The Dolphins are on the clock.
[9:22 p.m.] – 49ers pick Mykel Williams, edge, Georgia.
[9:18 p.m.] – The 49ers’ pick is in. The Cowboys are on the clock.
[9:14 p.m.] – Bears pick Colston Loveland, tight end, Michigan.
[9:12 p.m.] – The NFL announced the schedule release will be May 14, 2025. Not sure why that was needed during the draft, but they did.
[9:10 p.m.] – The Bears’ pick is in. The 49ers are on the clock.
[9:08 p.m.] – Saints pick Kelvin Banks, Jr., tackle, Texas. Another offensive lineman off the board if the Dolphins are looking to target their protection in the first round. There are still options available, but this run on tackles could also lead to someone falling to Miami at another position they cannot afford to ignore.
[9:06 p.m.] – The Saints’ pick is in. The Bears are on the clock.
[9:03 p.m.] – Panthers pick Tetairoa McMillan, wide receiver, Arizona
[8:59 p.m.] – Commercial, pick, commercial. Starting to drag out this first round and we are only on pick eight.
[8:58 p.m.] – The Panthers’ pick is in. The Saints are on the clock.
[8:56 p.m.] – Jets pick Armand Membou, tackle, Missouri
[8:51 p.m.] – The Jets’ pick is in. The Panthers are on the clock.
[8:48 p.m.] – Raiders pick Ashton Jeanty, running back, Boise State
[8:44 p.m.] – The Raiders’ pick is in. The Jets are on the clock.
[8:43 p.m.] – Browns pick Mason Graham, defensive tackle, Michigan. There was hope the Dolphins could land Graham as he fell, but there never was a realistic scenario where he would fall.
[8:38 p.m.] – Patriots pick Will Campbell, tackle, LSU
[8:37 p.m.] – The Browns’ pick is in. The Raiders are on the clock.
[8:33 p.m.] – The Patriots’ pick is in. The Browns are back on the clock.
[8:29 p.m.] – Giants pick Abdul Carter, edge, Penn State.
[8:27 p.m.] – The Giants’ pick is in. The Patriots are on the clock.
[8:22 p.m.] – Jaguars pick Travis Hunter, wide receiver/cornerback, Colorado
[8:20 p.m.] – The Jaguars’ pick is in. The Giants are on the clock.
[8:17 p.m.] – The Jaguars received the 2nd, 104th, and 200th picks in the deal, with Cleveland receiving the 5th, 36th, 126th, and a 2026 first-round pick back.
[8:15 p.m.] – That did not take long. As soon as the Browns were on the clock, Ian Rapoport reported the Browns and Jaguars agreed to a trade, sending the second pick to the Jaguars and the fifth pick along with “a massive haul” going back to Cleveland.
[8:14 p.m.] – Titans pick Cam Ward, quarterback, Miami. The Cleveland Browns are on the clock.
[8:08 p.m.] – The NFL Draft has started and the Titans are officially on the clock.
[7:37 p.m.] – Ian Rapoport is reporting the Browns are looking to trade out of the second position, with the Jaguars potentially jumping up from five. After no trades leading into the draft, it appears we are starting see real potential for moves early and often tonight.
[At publication:]
This is not a surprise report as the Dolphins need to add picks tonight if they can find anyway to do it.
