CAVA Women’s League: Nepal Police Club, Iran’s Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan Win on Day 2


Malé, Maldives — Day 2 of the CAVA Women’s League continued on February 5 at the Social Center Indoor Hall, with Pool B teams taking center stage in two matches featuring clubs from Nepal, Uzbekistan, Iran, and the Maldives. 

In the opening match of the day, Nepal Police Club (NPC) claimed a 3–1 victory over Humo VC (Uzbekistan) after 1 hour and 53 minutes of play. NPC took the first set 30–28 before Humo VC responded with a 25–21 win in the second. Nepal Police Club then regained control to win the third and fourth sets 25–21 and 25–23.

Bhandari Usha led Nepal Police Club with 26 points, supported by Chand Punam with 22 points. For Humo VC, Tursunpulatova Malikakhon finished as the top scorer with 18 points, with additional contributions from Zebokhon Absamatova and Boymirzaeva Dilnoza.

The second Pool B match saw Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan (Iran) defeat Huraa Community Club (Maldives) 3–1 in a match that lasted 1 hour and 26 minutes. Sepahan won the opening set 25–14 before Huraa rallied to take the second set 25–23. The Iranian side then closed the match by winning the third and fourth sets 25–14 and 25–12.

Khalili Chermahini Fatemeh topped the scoring for Sepahan with 19 points, while Veronica Zubareva led Huraa Community Club with 10 points.

With the results, Nepal Police Club and Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan strengthened their positions in Pool B, while Humo VC and Huraa Community Club will look to respond in their upcoming matches.

The tournament continues on February 6, with Pool A action scheduled as follows:

  • 16:15 hrs: Club WAMCO vs Turan VC

  • 20:30 hrs: Nepal Police Club vs Foolad Mobarakeh Sepahan

As the group stage progresses, teams continue to battle for valuable points on the road to the semifinals of the CAVA Women’s League.
