NHL Rumors: Rangers, Kings, Red Wings, Sabres, Predators, Canadiens, Mammoth, Maple Leafs, Oilers, and Sharks

Will Darren Raddysh replace Morgan Rielly next season?

NHL Watcher: Nick Kypreos on the Toronto Maple Leafs: “What will happen is that you move Morgan (Rielly) out and you go sign Raddysh from the Tampa Bay Lightning. As far as I’m concerned, it’s already done.. Toronto boy, he’s got a bomb of a shot which you haven’t had in years.”

The Montreal Canadiens will retain and maybe sweeten to move Patrik Laine

NHL Rumour Report: Nick Kypreos on the Montreal Canadiens and Patrik Laine: “Montreal is looking to move out his money and might be willing to spend an asset to do that; are prepared to retain a good chunk (even up to 50 per cent) of his deal.”

NHL Rumors: Potential Landing Spots for Jesper Wallstedt, and Marc-Andre Fleury

Some Nashville Predators GM candidates believe there will be an opening in New Jersey

Charlie Borges Jr.: Frank Seravalli: “While canvassing the league for the Nashville Predators GM job, there are candidates who believe there will be a GM change in New Jersey,” and candidates are “preparing for that to happen.”

Quick hits involving the Rangers, Kings, Red Wings, Sabres, Predators, Canadiens, Mammoth, Maple Leafs, Oilers, and Sharks

Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet: There had been some speculation (Friedman couldn’t confirm) that the Los Angeles Kings tried to include Vincent Trocheck in the Panarin trade. Trocheck may prefer to remain in the East.

The LA Kings are trying to trade Warren Foegele.

The Detroit Red Wings tried to sign Trocheck as a free agent but lost out to the Rangers.

NHL Rumors: New York Rangers, Los Angeles Kings, and the Toronto Maple Leafs

There have been “some” talks between the Buffalo Sabres and Alex Tuch. Indications are the Sabres are not interested in making their team worse, so that may mean they hold on to Tuch past the trade deadline even if they don’t have an extension in place.

Could see the Sabres adding a bigger defenseman.

The Nashville Predators and Jonathan Marchessault are okay with the idea of a trade. Marchessault, thinking of his kids, wants somewhere with a good minor hockey infrastructure.

Think the Montreal Canadiens like Predators Ryan O’Reilly, but not sure if he’ll be traded. Don’t think acquiring Blake Coleman is possible for the Canadiens.

Trocheck and Robert Thomas have slowed the Nazem Kadri market, and to a lesser extent, Ryan O’Reilly. The Utah Mammoth have checked in.

The Toronto Maple Leafs are looking for a first-round pick for Bobby McMann, and can see it as a possibility. Many contending teams don’t have a first, though –  Colorado, Dallas, Edmonton, Minnesota and Vegas. Carolina has Dallas’ but not their own. Ottawa also doesn’t have theirs.

The Edmonton Oilers are still trying to trade Andrew Mangiapane. They’re also looking for players who would be okay with playing in their bottom six.

NHL Rumors: Philadelphia Flyers – Matvei Michkov, Goaltending, and Pending UFAs

The San Jose Sharks are at 49 contracts and looking to create some flexibility. They only have two defensemen signed beyond this season.
