Sitting Volleyball Road to Los Angeles 2028
We are excited to announce the official qualification pathway for Sitting Volleyball at the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. Teams from around the world will have the opportunity to secure their place through a series of regional and world championships, culminating in final qualification tournaments held in the lead-up to the Games.
The key elements of the LA28 pathway (valid for both women & men)
- World Championships 2026: two slots
- Zonal Championships 2027: one slot for each zone (in total 4)
- Final Qualifier 2028: one slot
- Host: The host teams qualify directly if they are ranked places 1-8 during the 2026 World Championships – should they rank 9-16 or not participate the slot(s) will be allocated to the 2028 Final Qualifier

“We have reviewed the 2024 Paris Paralympics qualification pathway and the Paris tournament performance and made some adjustments to the previous pathway. Our key targets were to have a fair regional distribution and to grant the host with a preferred opportunity to qualify yet ensuring that the host must prove to be amongst the top eight teams of the world. We look forward to a thrilling fight for the LA28 tickets in the next two years starting with the World Championships in China July, 10-18 2026.”
