Abhishek Sharma to miss the game against Pakistan?
Sharma’s appearance in the match against Pakistan on February 15th would also rely on his fitness. On Sunday, at the squad supper at head coach Gautam Gambhir’s house, he appeared unwell and left after a short time. Abhishek was later admitted to the hospital on Monday. He stayed admitted on Tuesday as well. The team management is currently monitoring his condition.

Team India fielding coach, Ryan ten Doschate who was present at the pre-match press conference, provided an update for Abhishek Sharma. He said, “Yes, Washi joined the team yesterday. He will train today. Abhi still has a few issues with his tummy.”
“Booms will bowl today as well. He’s been ten days without bowling, but he’s feeling and moving a lot better. We will see how he goes in training today and tomorrow before getting on the field on Thursday.”
Abhishek Sharma, the best batter for India
The left-handed batter has been India’s best batter before the start of the T20 World Cup. He did not have the best of starts in the World Cup after being out on a golden duck in the first match. However, Abhishek has changed the template of playing the shortest format of the game for the Men in Blue. He has been the game-changer for the side.
If Abhishek Sharma misses the next game, which is a possibility, Sanju Samson gets a nod to open the innings. The latter is struggling with form and would like to capitalise on the chance if he opens the innings in the next game against Ishan Kishan. India would want Abhishek to be fit ahead of their blockbuster fixture against Pakistan.
India dealing with injury problems
India has been struck with injuries, with Harshit Rana being ruled out and replaced by Mohammed Siraj, who bowled brilliantly in the first game.
