AVC, Volleyball World strengthen strategic alignment in Lausanne

Lausanne, Switzerland — AVC President Ramon Suzara met with senior executives at Volleyball World headquarters to review preparations for the delivery of the Asian Volleyball Confederation’s extensive 2026 competition calendar and to further strengthen long-term strategic cooperation between the two organizations.

The meeting brought together Guido Betti, Chief Business Officer of Volleyball World, and Florian Mestdagh, Business Intelligence Partner at Volleyball World, alongside the Hosting & Growth team. Discussions focused on event delivery standards, commercial strategy, fan engagement, and performance insights to support AVC competitions across the region.

With a packed 2026 season ahead, discussions covered preparations for major club and national team competitions across Asia. The AVC Women’s Champions League will take place in Goyang, Korea from April 26–30, followed by the AVC Men’s Champions League in Pontianak, Indonesia from May 13–17.

Later in the year, the AVC Volleyball Women’s Continental Championship will be staged in Tianjin, China (August 21–30), while the AVC Volleyball Men’s Continental Championship will be held in Fukuoka, Japan (September 4–13), bringing together Asia’s leading national teams in highly anticipated continental showdowns.

The broader 2026 schedule also includes the AVC Women’s Cup in Candon, Philippines, the AVC Men’s Cup in Ahmedabad, India, the U18 Championships in Thailand and Bahrain, multiple beach volleyball events across the region, and the Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan — reflecting the breadth and strength of AVC competitions throughout the year.

“Our collaboration with Volleyball World continues to play an important role in elevating the delivery and visibility of AVC events,” said AVC President Ramon Suzara. “With a strong 2026 calendar ahead, we are committed to delivering competitions that strengthen our clubs, national teams, and the overall growth of volleyball across Asia.”

The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of AVC and Volleyball World to ensuring operational excellence and sustained growth as the Confederation prepares for one of its most comprehensive seasons to date.
