Bruno Fernandes: Details of INEOS’ mega offer revealed – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are gearing up for another monumental summer, where INEOS are expected to bring in several superstars as they look to turn the club into title contenders.

Aside from new arrivals, retaining certain players could prove just as crucial, with Bruno Fernandes, in particular, pivotal to the Red Devils’ fortunes.

With Michael Carrick guiding the 20-time English league champions to third place in the Premier League table, the club captain’s role cannot be understated.

He keeps breaking record after record, and with Saudi Pro League sides expected to come back for him, it is imperative United do everything in their power to keep the 31-year-old at Old Trafford.

INEOS hellbent on holding on to Bruno Fernandes

A meeting is expected to be held once the current campaign concludes, and according to The Mirror, INEOS are considering offering the Portugal international a huge pay rise to ensure he stays put.

Last summer, the co-owners were contemplating accepting Al-Hilal’s mega offer, but that is no longer the case.

The former Sporting CP superstar’s current deal is valid until 2027, with United having the option to extend it by another year.

As per the report, United are willing to break their wage structure and offer Bruno Fernandes a new and improved contract worth up to £400,000-a-week. INEOS were trying to trim their wage bill, but this shows their intent at holding on to the best players.

INEOS ready to break their wage structure

As for the midfield magician, he wants two guarantees from the club. He remains desperate to play in the Champions League, a dream that looks likely to come true as long as the club finishes in the top five.

He also wants Carrick to earn the permanent job. Both conditions appear achievable, thereby increasing United’s chances of keeping their talisman at The Theatre of Dreams.

“Bruno Fernandes will not seek assurances about Manchester United’s summer signings before deciding his future. The United captain is under contract until 2028, but could leave Old Trafford in the summer. United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and other senior figures are desperate to keep Fernandes, and want him to extend his deal.

“The club has made its feelings clear to the Portuguese international – with United willing to hand Fernandes a new and improved contract worth up to £400,000-a-week.

Bruno Fernandes sets two conditions

“Fernandes, who will be 32 in September, knows his next deal could be the last significant one of his career. And he wants to know United’s ambitions match his own, when it comes to the club’s chances of winning major trophies.

“It’s understood Fernandes will base his decision on whether or not United are in the Champions League next season. While Fernandes also wants to see if United decide to make Michael Carrick the club’s permanent manager.

“Fernandes has been impressed with the impact Carrick has made since taking charge on an interim basis – and has a strong relationship with him. Fernandes will wait until the end of the season before deciding his next move. He is expected to hold talks with club bosses, before heading to the World Cup in North America with Portugal.”

Bayern Munich have already exited the race, and if INEOS do submit an improved proposal, and United make it to the Champions League, there is very little chance a European club can prise the Portuguese magnifico away from United.
