Mohammad Amir surrenders to Mohammad Kaif after ugly fight over India’s T20 WC 2026 chances

The war of words between two former cricketers- Pakistan’s Mohammad Amir and India’s Mohammad Kaif- is showing two signs of stopping. The former Pakistan cricketer shared a new video, in a gesture of surrender to the former India cricketer.

The battle of words ignited during the T20 World Cup 2026, when Mohammad Amir raised question marks over Kaif’s credibility as an Indian national team player. Amir directly stated that only because of Sourav Ganguly, Mohammad Kaif got to play for Team India.

Mohammad Kaif responded brutally to Mohammad Amir.

Kaif’s response was more brutal. He mocked all the predictions Amir made throughout the T20 World Cup 2026. The former pacer repeatedly claimed that by any means, India would not claim the trophy. In every stage of the title race, Mohammad Amir predicted that the Suryakumar Yadav-led team would crash out of contention. All of his predictions proved wrong when India lifted the trophy, beating New Zealand by a huge margin.

As soon as the tournament wrapped up, with India as the winner for the third time, Mohammad Kaif launched an assault on Amir. Through a long Instagram video, Kaif said that the team went to play the tournament with at least 6 players in the squad who were part of the 2024 T20 World Cup-winning team. So, by logic, the Men in Blue were the most favored to win the title again, and they did that according to the expectations.

Kaif raised a valid question to Amir

“There is a message for Amir Bhai that he had mentioned that India’s team will not reach the semi-finals and will lose to the West Indies. Then he said that they will lose to England, they are a very strong team. Then he said that they reached the finals but will not be able to win the finals. Sir, I am talking about the logic. The logic is that the Indian team had won in 2024. They had won. They had the same players. If we remove Sharma and Virat Kohli, at least 6 players are playing in this World Cup. Despite that, you said that this team will not reach the semi-finals”, Kaif said.

“I am not making a video to insult you. I am just telling you that I wanted to understand your logic. Why did you say that this team will not reach the semi-finals and will not win the finals?” Mohammad Kaif raised the question to Mohammad Amir.

Mohammad Amir surrenders to Kaif

The Instagram video of Mohammad Kaif was shared a couple of days ago, and Amir’s reaction came after that, on March 9. The ex-pacer said that individual opinions must be there, and there should always be healthy debates.

“I am making this video for a special action. For Muhammad Kaif, this is not something I am making out of anger or to exercise control. Even after India’s victory yesterday, things were very good. There should always be a healthy debate, right? Opinions must exist”, Mohammad Amir said to Kaif.

“If someone doesn’t like or understand a character’s opinion, you take action. Honestly, how do you push pieces instead of cricket? Fans get exported to cricket. They start doing it and start using it. So I say, brother, I really liked this. Such a cricketer will ask the cricket question”, he added.
