Azaleas, emerald green and a rotary phone. You know what tournament this is. TaylorMade just can’t say it.
Every year, the golf industry plays the same game: design an entire product line around a tournament everyone on the planet recognizes and then go to extraordinary lengths to never actually say its name.
TaylorMade’s 2026 “Season Opener” collection is the latest entry in the genre and credit where it’s due—the details are well done even if the whole exercise remains a little absurd.
The staff bag
The centerpiece is a staff bag draped in emerald green and white with gold hardware throughout. Azalea embroidery adorns the side panels, a detachable numbered patch (26, naturally) mimics caddie bibs and one valuables pocket features an embroidered rotary phone—a nod to the fact that you’ll be surrendering your cell phone at the gates and dialing home like it’s 1987.
Another pocket showcases a Georgia license plate reading “TMADE26” because, again, we’re doing everything short of saying the actual name of the tournament (because Augusta National’s legal team will most definitely send a letter). Even the pocket linings get custom prints celebrating the atmosphere and items found inside the gates.

I legitimately don’t know if anyone buys these bags (and I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to be paired with the guy who would actually strap it to the back of a cart), but it’s pretty clear the design team takes a lot of pride in the work.
TP5 and TP5x pix

The Season Opener TP5 and TP5x pix balls pay tribute to the grounds crew with pix patterns featuring mowers, rakes, shovels and hedge trimmers. The sleeve packaging mimics Augusta National’s pristine fairways and there’s definitely no rough. The outer packaging (aka the box) borrows design cues from the venue’s iconic white maintenance shed.

It’s a nice touch (for balls without a single flamingo on them, anyway). The people who keep that place looking like a screensaver deserve more recognition than they get. It’s not the guys in the green coats making the magic happen.
Headcovers

The headcovers lean into the floral theme with pinks, yellows, whites and greens. Woods covers keep it clean with color blocking and green script branding. Putter covers go bolder with vibrant florals against soft green backgrounds. Dark-green velour lining on the inside because, apparently, even the parts you never see need to be on-theme.
The bottom line
Look, the Season Opener collection is well-executed. The details are thoughtful and the design cues are clever enough that you know exactly what tournament this is without TaylorMade having to utter the word.
That’s basically the entire point.

Availability and pricing
The Season Opener collection is available now. The staff bag is $699.99, headcovers run $79.99–$89.99 and TP5/TP5x pix balls are $64.99 per dozen. If any of this catches your eye, don’t sleep on it.
