RINGER MOCK DRAFT SEES STEELERS TRADE UP

Diante Lee of The Ringer released his 2026 NFL Mock Draft, and after selecting WR Makai Lemon at No. 21 overall, he has the Pittsburgh Steelers trading up in the first round for QB Ty Simpson. In the mock trade, the Steelers trade to No. 31 with the New England Patriots, giving up a 2026 second-round pick and two 2026 third-round picks for No. 31 and a 2026 sixth-round pick.

The Steelers have four selections within the top 100, so trading three Day 2 selections would still leave the team with one third-round pick. Lee didn’t specify which third-rounders the Steelers would trade in this potential scenario. The trade partner is also interesting, as the Steelers previously traded up with New England in the first round to select Broderick Jones in 2023, though that was under a prior regime in New England.

STEELERS CELEBRATE 412 DAY

It’s April 12, marking 412 Day in Pittsburgh. The city’s area code is 412, and the city has multiple celebrations in honor of the day. The Steelers got in on the fun, releasing a video of the team’s historic moments and celebrating the fanbase.

With the NFL Draft taking place in Pittsburgh and beginning on April 23, it’s a busy month for the city and one that should provide plenty of festivities for the fanbase. Among the festivities taking place around the city today were $4.12 draft beers at Allegheny Brewing Company and 412 Fest in Bakery Square, per Visit Pittsburgh.

TODD HALEY LOSES FIRST GAME AS INTERIM HEAD COACH

Former Pittsburgh Steelers OC Todd Haley got thrust into duty as the interim head coach for the Columbus Aviators after head coach Ted Ginn got arrested for DUI on Saturday. In his first game as interim head coach, Haley’s Aviators fell 28-23 on the road to the Dallas Renegades. Former Steelers RB John Lovett was the leading rusher for Columbus with six carries for 24 yards and a touchdown. He also caught a touchdown for the Aviators, who fell to 0-3.

All things considered, it wasn’t a bad showing for Columbus, which has dealt with a tumultuous 24 hours. It’s Haley’s second stint as a head coach in the UFL. He also coached the Memphis Showboats in 2023.
