Alex Ovechkin hopes he didn’t play his last game last night

Tom Gulitti of NHL.com: Alex Ovechkin left the door open a little bit more last night when he said he hopes he hasn’t played his last NHL game.

“I hope it’s not my last game. I don’t know what’s going to happen. So, we’ll see.”

Chris Pronger hasn’t been contacted by anyone

TSN: Chris Pronger is out promoting his book, and his name has come up in the rumor mill as potential management position for teams. He said so far, he hasn’t been contacted by any team about a potential position.

TSN: The World Championship’s get under way next month. Team Canada has big list of players who would be interested in playing, including Toronto Maple Leafs John Tavares according to Darren Dreger.

Chris Johnston mentions that Florida Panthers forward Aleksander Barkov could decide to play for Team Finland. Barkov has been out all year and continues to rehab his knee. Playing in the World’s would get him into some game action. He’s been out since September.

Two sets of exit interview will be interesting for Maple Leaf players

TSN: The end of the season for teams means exit meetings are coming. The Toronto Maple Leafs will run two sets of meetings – one with assistant GM Brandon Pridham and Ryan Hardy, and the other with head coach Craig Berube, according to Chris Johnston. Berube’s future with the team has been in question, but it appears he’s safe for now. Everyone is awaiting to see what direction management goes with a lot things.
