Sunrisers Hyderabad had to extend their winning streak, and had it not been for the former stand-in skipper Ishan Kishan, they would have never managed to get on to their winning streak in the season first-up after three early losses in the season.
Kishan almost revamped the side with finesse as he picked many young and dynamic fast bowlers into the squad after the experienced ones failed to produce results for them. This was when these batters changed the course of the game, and the bowlers backed them stunningly.
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s batter Ishan Kishan helped the Men in Orange chase the massive score as they took on Rajasthan Royals for the second time in this season of the IPL. They had started their winning streak against the same opposition back in the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Ishan Kishan’s match-winning knock helped them chase a 229-run total
The left-handed batting maestro from the Sunrisers camp helped them chase a massive total as he held onto his stunning form from the ICC T20 World Cup. Kishan was India’s best batter on show before Sanju Samson took charge in the last three matches for India.
Ishan Kishan has continued his stunning form in this season of the IPL, as he scored 80 against RCB in the starting game and then scored his next two half-centuries against the Royals, where he returned with the two scores of 91 and 74.
Ishan Kishan has scored runs at a strike rate of over 200 and has smacked the ball to all parts of the ground in a befitting partnership alongside Abhishek Sharma. Kishan was then picked as the player of the match.
He is a tremendous captain- Ishan Kishan
“No, I think as a wicket-keeper also I do the same job. We were able to restrict them to under 230, and we were able to do that. It was quite fun to lead the team for 7 games. He is a tremendous captain, so I was just thinking about my batting and keeping,” revealed Kishan while speaking of Pat Cummins.
“You have to play your shots and not be in fear. I think it was pretty quick, and it got extra bounce than what I expected; fortune favours the brave. We were pretty calm, and you have to have a good power play.
“I was communicating with Abhishek on what is happening and what the run-rate is. Calmness is about watching the ball and being predetermined; it is a big ground, and there will be big gaps. When the ball is not there, then you can push the ball around and keep the run rate going. No, I think my best is yet to come,” he added.
Sunrisers Hyderabad march to the Third position on the IPL points table
Sunrisers Hyderabad have managed to win four matches in a row after having started their winning streak against the Royals at their home ground at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Since then Abhishek Sharma has been in very good touch, as he has scored two half-centuries and a century in the last three innings for the Sunrisers. They have now gone up to the third position due to their higher net run rate. They have won an equal number of games to that of the Rajasthan Royals, while having played the same number of games as well.
