Depot After Dark: Heidenreich’s Message, Will Howard Attends Concert, Bradshaw’s Immaculate Reunion

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article, but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for April 26.

Heidenreich’s Message

Shortly after being drafted by his hometown team, Navy RB/WR and new Pittsburgh Steeler Eli Heidenreich shared a message to Steelers’ Nation.

“Excited to be staying home, and I’m ready to get to work,” he said via the team’s Twitter/X account. “Go Steelers.”

His selection made for one of the most emotional moments of the entire three-day event, as he walked onto the stage in uniform after his name was called. Heidenreich will compete for one of the final spots on Pittsburgh’s roster and utilize his versatility to make the team.

Will Howard Attends Concert

A year after being drafted, Howard spent his weekend hanging out at a Luke Combs concert in Columbus, Ohio. Joining former teammates Carnell Tate and Sonny Styles, plus NHL player Zach Wereneski, the group shot-gunned beers on stage while the crowd cheered.

Howard will be back in Pittsburgh for minicamp next month alongside Mason Rudolph and rookie Drew Allar.

Bradshaw’s Immaculate Reunion

Pittsburgh’s draft brought Steelers’ legends back into town. Terry Bradshaw was among that group, and for the first time since the play happened in 1972, Bradshaw got to hold the football he threw that produced The Immaculate Reception. A moment that’s arguably the most iconic play in football history.

Jerome Bettis shared the moment.

“History. First time Terry touched the Immaculate Reception football since the play. Grateful to be part of the special night,” Bettis tweeted.

Bradshaw’s elusiveness allowed the play to even have a chance, avoiding a sack before firing downfield as his pass bounced off the Raiders’ Jack Tatum and into Franco Harris’ outstretched arms. A special weekend for those who just became Steelers and those who have been part of franchise lore for decades.
