The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee, which is led by Ajit Agarkar, has finally lost its patience and has decided to sack Suryakumar Yadav as the T20I captain of the India National Cricket Team.
The Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain, Shreyas Iyer, who is also India’s ODI vice-captain, has been zeroed in to replace Suryakumar Yadav as the new India T20I captain.
Why Suryakumar Yadav has been sacked?
According to a report in Times of India, Suryakumar Yadav’s lean patch with the bat for an extended period of time has led to his sacking as captain.
Hence, when the selection committee sits to pick squads for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England, Suryakumar Yadav would not be the captain; instead, Shreyas Iyer will make a comeback to the side and take over the leadership duties.
