The Pittsburgh Steelers are reportedly set to host the Denver Broncos in a Week 12 Black Friday game. Per the OzzyNFL account, the one that broke yesterday’s news about the Paris game between the Steelers and New Orleans Saints, the game will be played at 3 PM/EST and shown on Amazon Prime.
The game will be available on television in local markets.
Black Friday will be on November 27th. It means Pittsburgh won’t have a Thanksgiving game but will play the day after.
Broncos reporter and analyst Benjamin Allbright was first to note that Denver was set to play on the road on Black Friday.
It’s the second known schedule leak or announcement ahead of Thursday’s complete release. More games are likely to be known before the team’s official posting at 8 PM/EST.
This game will mark the first time the Steelers have played on a Friday since September 20, 1946, when Pittsburgh, in its season opener, defeated the Chicago Cardinals 14-7 at Forbes Field. It’ll be just the sixth Friday game in team history, with the others coming from 1935-1938.
Under Sean Payton, the Broncos made it to the AFC Championship Game a year ago. Without QB Bo Nix, who broke his ankle in the Divisional Round, backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham couldn’t create enough offense against the New England Patriots. Denver fell in a 10-7 low-scoring affair.
The Broncos finished the regular season 14-3 and held the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
Needing more firepower, Denver traded for Miami Dolphins playmaking WR Jaylen Waddle ahead of the NFL Draft. Nix is expected to be healthy for the season opener and make even more progress in his third NFL season. Denver kept most of its elite defense intact, led by EDGE Nik Bonitto and CB Patrick Surtain Jr. In 2025, Denver finished with the third-ranked scoring defense while finishing second in yards allowed.
All-time, Pittsburgh is 7-6 at home against Denver in the regular season. The Steelers last hosted the Broncos in 2021, with Pittsburgh winning 27-19. The last time Pittsburgh hosted Denver without Ben Roethlisberger at quarterback came in 1997 when Kordell Stewart threw three touchdowns and rushed for two more in a 35-24 win.
