India vs Afghanistan third and final ODI has concluded, with India winning the game by 9 wickets. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brilliant ton in another run chase for the Men in Blue at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. He was excellent alongside Rohit Sharma, who also scored a brilliant half-century on the night as India clean-swept the Afghans.
While chasing a target of 219 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rohit Sharma stitched a partnership of 170 runs for the first wicket. The Southpaw in six ODI innings has scored two hundreds and no half-centuries, and both his tons have come in run chases for India.

Yashasvi was not in the squad initially, but was added in place of Virat Kohli. The latter was ruled out of the ODI series against Afghanistan due to a hamstring tear. Jaiswal did not feature in the first match, but in the last two matches, he scored a hundred in the final match and highlighted Rohit Sharma’s contribution to his hundred.
Yashasvi Jaiswal played a knock of 110 runs in 86 deliveries, smacking 14 fours and three sixes. After finishing off the match, Yashasvi Jaiswal was present in the post-match show, where he credited Rohit Sharma for the hundred and also showcased his love for the veteran India batter and described how the former India captain helps him.

Jaiswal said, “(On his conversations with Rohit) Of course, Rohit Bhaiya [is] always helpful. And I always ask questions, a lot of questions to him and try to implement in the game itself. Today as well, when I was getting dot balls, so I was asking what should I do then. He was telling me, just try to rotate the strike and the intent should be there.”

“So I was keeping my intent and rotating the strike. So that really helped me. And yeah, I always enjoy being with him, going and playing under him. Everything is like, it’s just amazing.”
Yashasvi joins an elite list
He, after his amazing century, entered an elite list of batters as he took the fewest innings to score his second ton, surpassing Shikhar Dhawan (7) and Virat Kohli (17). The Southpaw now sits at the top of the list, scoring in just 6 innings.
Apart from that, he also entered the list of fastest ODI 100s against Afghanistan. He is joint-seventh on the list in 83 balls. He is the fourth fastest as an Indian after Rohit, Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, with the latter two coming in this series.
