CHRISTIAN KUNTZ HOSTS YOUTH CAMP
With just over a month between now and the start of training camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, now is the perfect downtime for a lot of players. It’s a good time to host some football camps, too, which is what veteran long snapper Christian Kuntz did Saturday at his former high school.
Kuntz, a graduate of Chartiers Valley High School, hosted his third annual youth football camp Saturday for players in grades 2-8.
Kuntz, 32, enters his sixth season with the Steelers and has played in 85 games. He recently saw his roster spot strengthened when the Steelers released long snapper Cal Adomitis, leaving Kuntz as the lone long snapper on the roster.
CFL DENIES BRENDAN SORSBY
Following the surprising decision from the NFL to not hold a supplemental draft this summer, ending any hopes of reaching the NFL in 2026 for former Cincinnati quarterback Brendan Sorsby, the Canadian Football League became the latest to block any avenues for the quarterback.
“Upholding the integrity of the league and ensuring fair competition are paramount to the CFL,” the CFL said in a statement to USA Today. “The allegations involving Brendan Sorsby are serious and concerning.
“At this time, the CFL will not register a contract for him, and no team will be permitted to add him to its negotiation list.”
Sorsby previously transferred to Texas Tech for the 2026 season, but a betting scandal derailed his eligibility and caused him to seek a path to the NFL.
FORMER STEELER TALK TOMLIN
Former Steelers offensive lineman Kendall Simmons, who is an offensive line coach in college, had a ton of success with the Black and Gold, winning a pair of Super Bowls.
One of those Super Bowl wins came under Mike Tomlin. With Tomlin stepping away from the Steelers this offseason, there’s been a lot of talk about his coaching style, and his lack of success.
But for Simmons, who appeared on the Red Zone Blitz podcast, talked about Tomlin’s coaching style and why he was so successful.
“I would say the coaching style, which I would say at first when he first got there, it somewhat rubbed me the wrong way. But the longer I’m around him and I was there, I appreciated it,” Simmons said of Tomlin. “He is so blunt and straightforward, that if you don’t want to know the answer, don’t ask him because he’s going to tell you the truth. And that’s what we need. That’s what we all need.”
