Because of the timing of the match, the match organisers take precautionary measures to keep the contest away from the dew factor.

According to media reports, the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) has a solution to omit the due factor. The TNCA reportedly imported ‘Dew Cure’, a chemical from the United States, to keep the ground dew-free. The chemical is often used at Major League Baseball venues, and it works effectively.
Groundsmen prepare a solution, a mixture of the imported chemical and water, and spray it on the outfieldbeforeo the match day. The same procedure is expected to be made on Thursday as well.
“Once Dew Cure is sprayed, it ensures there is no moisture on the grass leaves. As soon as it gets wet, it will be absorbed and the grass leaves will turn dry”, sources told the Indian Express ahead of the India vs Zimbabwe match.
Team India is reportedly satisfied with the solution
Media reports claimed that they were happy with the method, as they conducted their training sessions at Chepauk on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
The dew-free ground is reportedly making the team satisfied ahead of the must win clash. It is also believed that BCCI can use the solution in the semi-finals and the Final as well. Though an official statement is yet to be made regarding this.

Suryakumar Yadav-led team’s T20 World Cup 2026 hopes received a blow as they dropped points against South Africa on February 22 in Ahmedabad. In Super 8, every team is scheduled play 3 matches each. India will have to win two matches in the phase, and both of the games will be a must win events for the Men in Blue brigade.
In Chennai, they will be up against Zimbabwe, the team that displayed a high class cricket against Australia and Sri Lanka, got a reality check against the West Indies.
