Manchester United’s 3-1 win over Aston Villa on Sunday meant they now have a firm grip on third place in the Premier League table.
There was a lot to like about the performance at Old Trafford, especially the team’s never-say-die attitude under Michael Carrick.
Bruno Fernandes‘ exquisite assist saw Matheus Cunha score, while super sub Benjamin Sesko got in on the act as well.
Amid all this, Casemiro also grabbed his customary goal from a corner, his seventh in the English top flight this season, which represents his best-ever league return.
Casemiro still breaking records at 34
The fact that the Brazilian is still breaking records at the age of 34 shows his level, and the fans made their opinion known when they chanted in unison, “One more year, one more year”.
The former Real Madrid superstar has already announced he will be departing at the end of the season upon the expiration of his current deal.
INEOS have decided against offering him a new deal and have refrained from triggering the one-year option in his contract as they look to trim a bloated wage bill.
Plenty were of the opinion that when the Brazil international did depart, he would most likely join an MLS side or a team in the Saudi Pro League.
Juventus offered the chance to sign Casemiro
However, several European teams still feel the defensive midfielder has a lot to offer, with Tutto Juve journalist Mirko Di Natale claiming the United No.18’s agents have offered him to two Italian clubs in recent weeks.

AC Milan’s interest is known, but now Juventus have also been presented with the chance to sign the midfield legend.
“Casemiro, who will leave Man Utd on a free transfer at the end of the season, has been offered to Milan and also to Juventus in recent weeks,” the reporter wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
United squad will be left heartbroken
Many members of the United squad have asked INEOS to reconsider their stance, and should Juve sign Casemiro, it would be a huge blow to the team’s morale.
He has shown he still has the capability to control the tempo of games while also producing moments of magic on the pitch, not to mention his leadership skills off it.
