Several incomings are planned at Manchester United, who are yet to appoint their permanent head coach.
Interim boss Michael Carrick appears to be the leading candidate for the role after picking up 23 points from a possible 30. Still, the hierarchy intend to wait until the end of the campaign before making a final decision.
However, the club’s recruitment team has already identified the areas of the squad that need to be strengthened, regardless of who is at the helm next season.
Manchester United agree Cristian Orozco deal
According to the Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have “already agreed one summer transfer for new boss with 4 more in pipeline.”
It is claimed United have reached an initial agreement for Colombian defensive midfielder Cristian Orozco.
The 17-year-old midfielder is currently on the books of Fortaleza CEIF and cannot officially leave the Colombian outfit until he turns 18. The deal for him to sign for the Premier League giants will be finalised in the summer, as he reaches that crucial milestone on 13 July.
However, United already have a preliminary agreement to pay around £750,000 to acquire his services.
The combative defensive midfielder, who currently represents Colombia U17s, has drawn comparisons to Chelsea’s Moisés Caicedo for his physicality and aggressive style of ball recovery.
Four first-team signings lined up
Despite his immense potential, Orozco is joining as a talent to boost the academy system, and United want to add at least two senior players in the middle of the park, claims the Manchester Evening News.
Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson seems to be the club’s first-choice target, but the England midfielder is also being strongly pursued by Manchester City.
Newcastle United duo Bruno Guimaraes and Sandro Tonali are also on the list of the Red Devils’ midfield targets.
Meanwhile, it is understood that United will also target a younger left-back and a left-winger.
