Ban loading? Virat Kohli engages in heated exchange with umpire after Jason Holder’s controversial catch to dismiss Rajat Patidar in GT vs RCB clash

The Royal Challengers Bengaluru, for the second time in this season of the competition, have struggled with the bat in the power play. They have not lost two or more wickets in the first ten overs in the majority of their matches, and saw untimely wickets only when they faced the Rajasthan Royals at the start of the season.

However, against the GT bowlers at Ahmedabad, they have struggled despite their batters getting off to a promising start. The likes of Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar, and Tim David were dismissed in no time after having gotten to promising starts.

Jason Holder’s stunning grab to dismiss the RCB skipper

Jason Holder picked out one of the greatest catches in this season of the IPL as he settled nicely under a ball that went sky high and was travelling towards one of those empty pockets in the ground.

As Rajat Patidar looked to play a lofted glance shot off Arshad Khan’s first over after having smashed him for a six off the first ball, the ball went up high into the night sky, allowing Jason Holder to run in from square leg and settle nicely under the ball.

Holder was in full control as he settled under the ball with those big fingers covering the ball entirely and had it in the air before he scratched the surface of the ball on the ground in his attempt to get back on his feet.

Virat Kohli and RCB camp fumes at Umpires after controversial dismissal of Rajat Patidar

After having completed the catch, Jason Holder slid the ball onto the ground, but the umpires ruled Rajat Patidar out, and the RCB den, including the veteran cricketer Virat Kohli, did not look impressed with the decision.

While they all were on their feet protesting against the dismissal, the umpires considered that Holder had his fingers under the ball and had also completed the catch and kept it in the air for a much longer time before he slid it on the field.
