MCCORMICK MARRIED
The Steelers have worked hard to rebuild their offensive line in recent years. They’ve spent multiple high draft picks on linemen, including in the first round this year. However, they’ve also found some gems, most notably Mason McCormick in the fourth round in 2024. McCormick wasn’t expected to start as a rookie, but he stepped up and has proven to be reliable at right guard.
There’s hope McCormick will continue to ascend this season. This offseason is a little more special for him, too, because he recently got married, as the Steelers shared on Twitter. It’s a big moment, and hopefully McCormick and his wife had a great day.
BERNARD DRAFT CALL
While the Steelers didn’t trade up in the first round of this year’s draft, they made a move in the second round. They jumped up to secure wide receiver, Germie Bernard. He figures to compete for their No. 3 receiver job. He’s got a tough play style that should fit in well in Pittsburgh.
Bernard’s draft call was recently shared online, and it’s a nice moment to capture. The calls to prospects are usually some of the best parts of the draft. Bernard’s excitement is obvious, and there’s a lot of celebrating involved. It’s the culmination of all of his hard work up to this point.
WATT HELPS WALK FOR CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL
T.J. Watt has been one of the NFL’s best players for years. He’s won a Defensive Player of the Year award, and he’s the Steelers’ all-time sack leader. While he’s been less effective recently, he’s got a chance to bounce back this season. Also, he’s still a valuable member of the organization off the field.
UPMC Children’s Hospital shared on Instagram that Watt and his wife are helping with this year’s Walk for Children’s event. They’re matching all gifts up to $50,000. Watt might be best known for what he does on the field, but he’s just as respectable off of it.
