Gujarat Titans (GT) confirmed a crucial win against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur at a crucial juncture of the ongoing IPL 2026 season, when multiple teams are still in the race for the play-offs.
The Shubman Gill-led team dominated the home team throughout the match. Whether it was the batting or the bowling, Gujarat ruled over Rajasthan tonight. After the match, Shubman Gill expressed his satisfaction with the team’s effort.

Gujarat Titans simply conquered the Rajasthan Royals
Batting first, GT scored 229 runs for the loss of only 4 wickets, with half-centuries from Gill and Sai Sudharshan propelling the team towards a massive total. Losing multiple wickets in the early stage of the second innings, Rajasthan was never in a comfortable position to hunt down the mammoth target.
Rashid Khan’s 4-wicket spell and a three-wicket spell by Jason Holder restricted the team in Pink to only 152 runs. Inside the 17th over of the second innings, RR lost their 10th batter and wrapped up the match in favor of the Gujarat Titans.
Shubman Gill praised his batters for the massive win
At the presentation ceremony, the GT captain, Shubman Gill, mentioned that it was amongst the performances as a team which makes him happy. For him, it was a complete cricket, perhaps the best from them in IPL 2026.

He explained that they got a good amount of extra runs on the board, which provided them an extra edge over the Rajasthan Royals. The GT captain mentioned that the pitch was not easy enough to bat, but still, he was able to hold on to it and put on a handsome total.
“Yeah, definitely, even before this match, we had a conversation that, till now, I don’t think we had a perfect match. So very happy. I think this was a clean win for us. Definitely (would you say this was a perfect match?),” Gill said after the match.
“I think we got above maybe 10-15 runs extra on the board. We thought there was a little bit in for the spinners in the middle. It wasn’t easy to hit sixes or get the boundaries. The ball was gripping a little bit.”
“We got 230 runs on the board. We always knew that if we got a couple of wickets in the power play, we’re going to have a good game. Yeah, I mean, that’s what we thought as well (we thought 250 was on the cards),” Shubman Gill added.
The GT skipper praised the bowlers as well
Gill praised his bowlers as well for keeping the pressure on the Rajasthan batter throughout the innings. He highlighted that the bowlers got wickets in crucial stages, and that’s how the difference between the two teams is looking so much on the scorecard.
“We see if we take wickets up front, it always gives our bowlers a bit more chance in the middle overs to attack and then get even more wickets. Because the only way with the impact player and the kind of wickets that there are, the only way to contain the other team is if you keep picking up wickets.”
“There is no other way. So that’s the thought process behind it. Always look to keep attacking and always look to keep taking the wickets,” the GT captain, Shubman Gill said.
