Power players will renew their rivalry in a Wimbledon blockbuster.
The 2026 Wimbledon draw was conducted today and a first-round showdown pitting No. 6-seeded American Taylor Fritz against British left-hander Jack Draper.
Injury-induced inactivity has dropped Draper’s ranking from No. 4 to No. 160. Draper, who lost to Marin Cilic at Wimbledon last year, is 3-2 lifetime vs. Fritz, including winning their lone grass clash at the 2022 Queen’s Club.
Reigning Wimbledon champion Jannik Sinner plays Serbia’s Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round. Sinner, who was upset by Juan Manuel Cerundolo at Roland Garros, enjoys a favorable draw for his SW19 defense.
The top-seeded Sinner’s first possible seeded opponent is 31st-seeded Ignacio Buse in the third round follow by a fourth-round meeting with either 23rd-seeded Spaniard Rafael Jodar or 14th-seeded Italian Luciano Darderi in the fourth round, eighth-seeded Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals and Grand Slam king Novak Djokovic in the semifinals if seeds hold true to form.
