Dolphins make large donation to Venezuelan relief fund

Last week, a devastating earthquake hit the country of Venezuela, leaving tens of thousands of people missing and a confirmed death toll of over 1,700 people at the time of this writing.

On Tuesday morning, the Miami Dolphins announced that through the Miami Dolphins Foundation, the organization and owner Stephen Ross would be donating $100,000 towards the relief efforts taking place in Venezuela.

”Venezuela needs our help. They are in desperate need of resources following the devastating earthquakes. The Miami Dolphins Foundation is donating $100,000 to assist in relief efforts. Please consider joining us with a donation or by bringing supplies to an official GEM drop-off location. To learn more or to make a donation, visit GEM.org/Venezuela.”

Since Stephen Ross took part ownership of the Miami Dolphins in 2008 and then majority ownership in 2009, the team has been one of the most philanthropic organizations in all of the National Football League. Donations regarding higher education, racial equality, urban sustainability, the arts, and healthcare have been routinely made by Ross and the Dolphins. In late 2025, Ross was named as the league’s most generous owner through the NFL Players Association’s annual report card, earning a minimum of an A for every category pertaining to him.
