STEELERS TRAINING TOGETHER

NFL players are able to get some rest and relaxation at this point in the offseason. Training camp is still a few weeks away, and other offseason activities are over. However, that isn’t stopping some players from still trying to get work in. That includes some Steelers.

T.J. Watt, Nick Herbig, and Jack Sawyer were all training together recently, as J.J. Watt posted on his Twitter. They were actually part of a larger group working out at NX Level, a sports performance center in Wisconsin. Herbig previously revealed that he, Watt, and Sawyer planned to work out together, and it looks like they finally found time to meet.

ST. VINCENT FIELD BLESSED

The Steelers will go to Latrobe, Pennsylvania for training camp at Saint Vincent College once again. Outside of a few years during the global pandemic, the Steelers have been going there for training camp for decades. While the team looks a little different this year, especially with Mike Tomlin gone, it’s still going to practice in Latrobe.

It takes a lot for Saint Vincent to prepare for the Steelers’ arrival, though. That includes blessing the field that players will practice on, as the college shared on YouTube. Saint Vincent has deep ties to faith, and it’s home to many Benedictine monks. That may have played a part in the Steelers’ Week 18 win over the Baltimore Ravens last year, as Acrisure Stadium’s field was blessed before the game.

HOW MCCORMICK HELPED SDSU OL

The Steelers’ offensive line is currently full of young starters. While Zach Frazier and Troy Fautanu get a lot of the attention, Mason McCormick shouldn’t be forgotten about. He was a Day-3 pick, with a less prestigious background than Frazier or Fautanu. However, he’s been a starter for basically the same amount of time as they have, holding his own.

McCormick has good leadership qualities, too. While he’s still young in his NFL career, he was a good role model in college at South Dakota State University. Current SDSU offensive lineman Quinten Christensen recently spoke on Forum Communications Company’s YouTube channel about how much McCormick has helped them. The two were teammates for two seasons in college, and they’re still close today.
