Manchester United’s quest to land their dream midfield target in Aurelien Tchouameni might not work out in the end.
It seemed like the chapter had closed for good when news broke of the Frenchman agreeing a new deal with Real Madrid.
However, reports surfaced stating that the former AS Monaco ace might be sacrificed for Jose Mourinho to go all out to land someone like Rodri or Enzo Fernandez.

The Red Devils even enquired about the possibility of a deal, but reliable social media source Djamel, the person who broke the Ederson story, has hinted that the France international is going nowhere.
Aurelien Tchouameni decision
“Aurélien Tchouaméni will extend his contract with Real Madrid and won’t move this summer. He feels completely fine at the club,” he wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Fabrizio Romano confirmed the same, while adding that United see Aurelien Tchouameni as the dream replacement for Casemiro.
This explains why INEOS are so desperate to land him. However, it just is not feasible at this point.

Elusive CDM hunt goes on
“Tchouaméni has already signed a new contract with Real Madrid and is staying put,” Romano revealed on his YouTube channel.
The search for that elusive defensive midfield profile is set to continue. The 20-time English league champions initially tried to sign Elliot Anderson but were priced out of a deal.
Tottenham Hotspur hijacked moves for both Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes, while Ederson failed his United medical.
INEOS have stayed calm and signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans but Michael Carrick needs at least three new faces.
Carlos Baleba and Alex Scott are among the Premier League-proven names on the club’s radar, but their asking prices are proving prohibitive at the moment.
