ICC announces Player of the Month nominees for July 2026; England vice-captain in race

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the three players who are in the race for the ICC Player of the Month Award for July 2026 on Monday, August 10.

ICC Player of the Month Award nominees announced

West Indies all-rounder Justin Greaves, England captain Harry Brook, and Bangladesh batter Tanzid Hasan have been shortlisted for the ICC Player of the Month award for July 2026 after having impressed in June. The voting line is now open for the four days on the ICC website.

However, Greaves’, Brook’s, and Hasan’s performances were very different from each other. Greaves made a big impact in Test cricket with both bat and ball; Brook was at his attacking best in the T20I series against India, while Tanzid showed great consistency for Bangladesh in both the ODI and T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Justin Greaves shines with bat and ball for the West Indies

Justin Greaves has been on full song with both the bat and ball for the West Indies National Cricket Team in July 2026. The all-rounder stepped up when his team needed him the most in the first Test against Sri Lanka in North Sound.

The right-hander played a superb innings of 180 runs to help West Indies make a strong comeback in the match. However, that Test match ended in a draw, but West Indies still finished the series with a 1-0 win against Sri Lanka.

Greaves then produced an even more impressive performance with the ball against Pakistan in Tarouba later in the month. He picked up five wickets for just 27 runs and then took another two wickets while giving away only 12 runs in the second innings against Pakistan.

He finished the match with eight wickets and played an important role in the team’s first Test win over Pakistan. Greaves’ overall numbers for July were excellent. He scored 215 runs in two Tests at an average of 71.66 as well as scalped eight wickets at an outstanding average of only 10.25. The all-rounder made some valuable contribution in the two ODIs against Pakistan.

Harry Brook dominates India in T20Is

England’s white-ball captain Harry Brook had a fantastic month, especially in the T20I series against India. He could manage only 31 runs across three ODI matches, but he regained his form in the five-match T20I series against England. Amid this, Ajinkya Rahane reveals 5 cricketers who contacted him after Team India retirement.

Brook played an important role in England’s batting and helped his team win the T20I series against India. Across five T20I matches, Brook scored 229 runs at an excellent average of 114.50 and a strike rate of 214.01. The skipper finished the India T20I series as the highest run-scorer.

Tanzid Hasan shines bright for Bangladesh

Bangladesh opener Tanzid Hasan was the third and final nominee for the ICC Player of the Month Award for July 2026. The left-handed batter delivered impressive performances in the white-ball series against Zimbabwe. He scored 159 runs in three ODI matches at a strike rate of 89.83.

Tanzid continued his form in the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe and scored 140 runs at an average of 70.00 and a strike rate of 127.27. He finished both series as the leading run scorer.
