Heat Considered Moving Simone Fontecchio Before Haywood Highsmith Trade

The Miami Heat were reportedly looking to trade Simone Fontecchio last month to get under the luxury tax, sources told Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

The Heat instead dealt Haywood Highsmith to the Nets. 

The Heat acquired Fontecchio over the offseason in a deal for Duncan Robinson.

Fontecchio recently scored 39 points against Bosnia and Herzogovina, shooting 13-20 from the field with seven 3s.
