World Kabaddi welcomes the Democratic Republic of Congo to its growing global family.
The Congolese National Federation of Sambo and Kabaddi (FENACOSA) was accorded provisional membership pending approval from the Central Board.
FENACOSA is headed by Leon Mvila Mbambi Madukila as its president with Justin Nanga Mbuitti as the Secretary General.
Africa is one of the fastest growing continents for the sport of kabaddi and Congo’s entry further strengthens the continent.
Africa is already in the forefront of kabaddi with several key World Kabaddi officials coming from the continent. World Kabaddi president Dr Osama Said is from Egypt while Perpetual Muthoni Mbutu is the Deputy Secretary.
The 4th Africa Kabaddi Championship will now be be held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, from 20th June to 28th June 2026. The championship will bring together national teams from across Africa to celebrate sporting excellence, strengthen continental unity, and promote the growth of Kabaddi throughout the region.
This prestigious event will also foster cultural exchange, youth development, and collaboration among African nations while showcasing the spirit of sportsmanship and solidarity that defines the African continent.
