In a recent ESPN article identifying each NFL team’s surprise player of the offseason, the Miami Dolphins’ selection was tight end Greg Dulcich. The choice highlights the rapport he has already built with the new starting quarterback, Malik Willis, during their offseason workouts. I then asked the following question:

What are your expectations for Greg Dulcich this season, and do you anticipate him becoming Malik Willis’s primary safety valve?

Below are some of your thougths and answers-

TheRoo1 points to Willis’ past tendency to rely heavily on his tight end as to why Dulcich might become a top target this coming season.

In Green Bay Willis threw 20% of his passes to his tight ends. Tucker Kraft being his main target. If he ends up throwing 20 passes per game, that would lend to Dulcich possibly seeing 4 per game. It is noteworthy that Willis tended to look for his tight ends in the redzone, so Dulcich may have that to look forward to. A 50 catch season with 700 yards could be in store, especially when you consider the weakness at WR.

THEphinz believes Greg is ready for the big time!

Thats future HoF TE Greg Dulcich.

MiamiItaliano has Dulcich with a solid season stat-wise.

75 receptions, 800 yards, 10 TDs

MIAMI235 points out that a good TE can be someone a QB can lean on when things get tough.

As touched on, many times the TE can be a go too, quick check down or emergency trusted target for a newer QB.

Whether it’s pressure, fear, inability to read the defense, comfort level, etc. the TE can save some drives and incompletions.

Top Teams have a very good one.

Phoenix6 has him penciled in as the starter all season long.

He’ll start all 17 games, have 58 receptions for 600yds, & 7 TDs.

Well, that was much slower than I would like, but this won’t be the last before camp starts and everyone’s summer is over.
