The England star achieved the milestone during the fifth and final T20I against India at the Rose Bowl in Southampton on Saturday, June 11.

Buttler produced a stunning innings of 131 runs off 64 deliveries, including 12 fours and eight sixes, as England posted a massive 257/5 in 20 overs. The hosts then sealed a 56-run victory to complete a 4-0 series win. The triumph also marked England’s first-ever bilateral T20I series victory over the Men in Blue.

England Complete Historic 4-0 Series Win Over India

Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bowl first. India made a bright start when Prasidh Krishna dismissed Phil Salt in the second over. However, England quickly took control through Jos Buttler and Harry Brook, who dominated the Indian bowling attack.

Buttler and Brook added a record 233 runs for the second wicket in just 102 balls, the highest partnership for any wicket in men’s T20I history. Buttler smashed his career-best, while Brook remained unbeaten on 95 from 45 deliveries as England posted 257/3, the highest T20I total against India.

Buttler also scored his second T20I century and registered the highest individual score against India in the format. Shivam Dube was India’s most successful bowler, finishing with two wickets.

Chasing 258, India never seriously threatened the target despite fighting knocks from Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma. Kishan scored 56 off 35 balls, while Tilak made 53 off 25. Sam Curran starred with the ball, taking three wickets as England restricted India to 201/8 and sealed a 56-run win.
