Manchester United have made some major changes to their youth goalkeeping department this summer.
Early this month, a BBC report claimed that Swansea City goalkeeper Kit Margetson is set to join the Red Devils. The Wales U21 international is expected to be loaned out to an EFL club this summer to “continue his development in senior football.”
Furthermore, United parted ways with one of their youth setup’s most highly rated goalkeepers earlier in the summer.
Darlington Osuchukwu finds new home after Manchester United exit
In June, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Spanish goalkeeper Darlington Osuchukwu had decided to leave Manchester United.
The 16-year-old, who is 6ft 4in tall, had been a key figure for United’s U16s side, and had even trained with the first team on several occasions. However, the Gazte Berriak product was keen to return to Spain, having left the country for a move to Manchester when he was 13 years old.
According to The Secret Scout, a reputable source for youth football and transfer news, Osuchukwu has now found his next destination.
It is understood the former United youngster has agreed to join La Liga outfit Athletic Club.
“Athletic Bilbao have completed the signing of 16-Year-Old Darlington Osuchukwu from Manchester United after his contract ended 30th of June,” The Secret Scout posted on X.

Darlington Osuchukwu confirms Manchester United exit
Earlier today, Osuchukwu took to Instagram to say his goodbyes, writing: “After four unforgettable years at this incredible club, I have made the incredibly difficult decision to move on and embrace a new challenge.
“This was not a decision my family and I took lightly. While I was grateful to be given the opportunity to continue my journey here, we believe the time is right to begin a new chapter.”

Meanwhile, there has also been movement in the goalkeeping department at senior level.
United have announced the signing of Karl Darlow, who arrives at Old Trafford as a free agent after leaving bitter rivals, Leeds United. Also a Welshman like Margetson, Darlow is expected to be Senne Lammens’ back-up under Michael Carrick.
