CHONBURI, Thailand — The AVC Beach Volleyball Coaches Course concluded Friday at the FIVB International Centre of Excellence (ICoE) at Sattahip Naval Base, marking the successful completion of a five-day educational program that brought together 23 coaches from six National Federations.
Held from July 20 to 24, the course was conducted by AVC Instructor Mr. Denis Rovkin of Kazakhstan, who led a combination of classroom instruction and practical on-court sessions designed to enhance coaching knowledge and strengthen the development of beach volleyball across Asia and the Pacific.
The participants, comprising seven women and 16 men from Japan, Mongolia, Singapore, Thailand, Vanuatu, and Vietnam, completed a comprehensive program aimed at equipping coaches with the knowledge and practical skills needed to further develop beach volleyball in their respective countries.
The closing ceremony was presided over by Mr. Somporn Chaibangyang, President of the Thailand Volleyball Association (TVA), who presented certificates to all participants in recognition of their successful completion of the course. Also in attendance were Mr. Shanrit Wongprasert, TVA Honorary Life Secretary General; AVC Instructor Mr. Denis Rovkin; and Captain Rachan Kosayakanon, TVA Executive Committee Member.
In his closing remarks, Mr. Somporn congratulated the participants on their achievement and commended their commitment throughout the five-day program.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to all participants of the AVC Beach Volleyball Coaches Course on your remarkable accomplishment. Over the past five days, you have worked tirelessly under the outstanding guidance of AVC Instructor Mr. Denis Rovkin, embracing every opportunity to learn, grow, and share experiences with one another.
“I am confident that the knowledge you have gained, together with the friendships you have forged and the valuable exchange of ideas throughout this course, will serve as stepping stones toward becoming accomplished beach volleyball coaches. May what you have learned here inspire you to raise the standard of our sport and nurture the next generation of athletes in your respective countries.”
Mr. Somporn also expressed his appreciation to the personnel of Sattahip Naval Base, with special thanks to Captain Thammathat Klomkaew, TVA Beach Volleyball Director, for his dedication and coordination on behalf of the FIVB International Centre of Excellence in Thailand.
Concluding his address, Mr. Somporn wished all participants a safe journey home.
“I wish each and every one of you a safe trip back home. May your journey ahead be filled with success as you continue to promote and develop beach volleyball in your respective nations. It is now my great pleasure to officially declare the AVC Beach Volleyball Coaches Course closed.”
The successful completion of the course marks another milestone in the AVC’s continued efforts to strengthen coach education and capacity building, providing National Federations with opportunities to enhance coaching knowledge and support the sustainable growth of beach volleyball throughout the region.
