The Miami Dolphins’ 2026 season is one of reset for the club, with a reset to the front office under new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan, a reset to the coaching staff under new head coach Jeff Hafley, a reset to the roster with many veterans cut, traded, or allowed to leave as younger players were added, and a reset to the salary cap with many free agents signed to one-year contracts and the team eating dead money this year to set them up for flexibility in the future. The Dolphins are playing the long game with their vision of the 2026 season.
When looking toward the future, the present sometimes takes a hit. While the Dolphins may be talking about competing this year and avoiding talk of a rebuild, the fans, league, and odds makers are not expecting much out of South Florida. Throughout the offseason and into the start or training camp, FanDuel Sportsbook has continuously listed Miami’s projected win total at just 4.5 games. If the do not reach the over this year, it would mark the worst season for the franchise since their 1-15 campaign in 2007.
