WNBA Teams Considering Coaches With G League Experience To Fill Vacancies

WNBA teams with head coach openings are considering NBA assistants with G League head coaching experience, sources told Jake Fischer of The People’s Insider.

Currently coaching in the WNBA Finals with the Mercury, Nate Tibbets was a longtime assistant in the NBA and a two-time G League head coach with Tulsa and Sioux Falls.

New York, Dallas, Seattle, Portland, and Toronto currently have head coach vacancies.

The Liberty have reached out to NBA assistants to replace Sandy Brondello. Lakers assistant Lindsey Harding has interviewed for the position.

Harding has also drawn interest from Portland and Toronto. Former South Bay Lakers head coach Miles Simon has also interviewed with both teams.

The Fire are also interested in current Cavs head of player development Alex Sarama.Â
