The 3 Most Accurate Player’s Distance Irons Of 2026

Player’s distance irons are supposed to give you a little more ball speed and carry than player’s irons without looking or feeling like a game-improvement iron. That extra distance is appealing but accuracy should not be the tradeoff. This is especially true for golfers moving from a player’s iron into the player’s distance category.

A few additional yards do not help much if your dispersion gets wider or you stop hitting as many greens. These three player’s distance irons stood out because they provided the added speed golfers want while still producing some of the strongest accuracy results in the 2026 test.

Every buying guide at MyGolfSpy is informed by independent testing and millions of equipment data points, helping golfers separate marketing claims from measurable performance.

How we test

MyGolfSpy’s Most Wanted Testing is powered by:

UNRL Apparel â€“ The official staff apparel partner of MyGolfSpy. We rely on UNRL to keep staff comfortable and focused while providing world-class testing.

Titleist Pro V1 golf balls are a key component in testing. Every shot hit in Most Wanted utilizes these golf balls. They have long been the non plus ultra in golf ball quality and the only ball we trust in Most Wanted testing.

Foresight GC Quad â€“ Foresight is the gold standard in camera-based launch monitor technology because it produces data we can rely on with every shot hit.

The Indoor Golf Shop’s SIGPRO Premium â€“ All of our testing is done indoors at our HQ in Yorktown, Va. With each test, our screens take an absolute beating. We need high-quality, durable impact screens to handle the workload. SIGPRO Premium meets our expectations.

Wilson DYNAPWR Forged

The Wilson DYNAPWR Forged was the most complete accuracy performer of the three. It produced a compact 867-square-yard shot area, the second smallest in the test, and finished just 0.15 yards left of the center line on average.

It also posted a 32.1-percent greens-in-regulation rate and kept 99.47 percent of its shots playable. Its 154.36-yard carry distance was closer to the middle of the player’s distance field so this is not the iron for someone chasing every possible yard. It is better suited to the golfer who wants a balanced combination of distance, tight dispersion and predictable misses.

LA GOLF CB-26 Max

The LA GOLF CB-26 Max produced some of the best accuracy numbers in the entire test. It led the category with 72.29 percent straight shots, a 99.58-percent playable-shot rate and an average proximity of 20.3 feet.

Its 895-square-yard shot area was also among the tighter results. The weakness is distance. Its average carry of 153.27 yards ranked near the bottom of the player’s distance group. This is the best fit for a golfer who wants the look and construction of a player’s distance iron but cares more about hitting straight shots and finishing closer to the hole than maximizing carry.

Mizuno Pro M-15

The Mizuno Pro M-15 combined accuracy with more distance than the other two irons.

Its 156.12-yard average carry ranked second in the test and it led the entire category with a 32.6-percent greens-in-regulation rate. The tradeoff was consistency around the target. Its 1,007-square-yard shot area was larger than Wilson’s or LA GOLF’s. The M-15 is the iron I’ve identified as the best in 2026 if you want distance without sacrificing accuracy.
