Javante McCoy Nuggets Agree To Camp Deal

The Denver Nuggets and guard Javante McCoy have agreed to a camp deal. McCoy will likely sign a non-guaranteed, Exhibit 10 contract with Denver. After the preseason, McCoy will join the Nuggets G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold.

McCoy spent last season the Detroit Pistons G League affiliate, the Motor City Cruise. The 6-foot-5 guard averaged 12.9 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. McCoy has also played for the South Bay Lakers and Austin Spurs of the G League.

McCoy briefly signed a standard contract with the Detroit Pistons in mid-December. This was done as part of a roster shuffle to keep the Pistons above the salary floor, as they waived, then re-signed Paul Reed.

Adding McCoy will bring the Nuggets preseason roster to 20 players. That’s one shy of the maximum of 21 players that NBA teams are allowed to carry in the offseason.
